Between San Antonio de Cordova

and el Santuario de Chimayo:
Distance (one way): 5.4 miles.

Total Elevation Gain: About 880’ from Chimayo (6075’) to Cordova (6955’).
Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult

This pilgrimage is one of the shortest. The portion of the journey near Chimayo winds along the Santa Cruz river. Cordova offers the pilgrim beautiful views of the sand hills, the Española Valley, and the distant Jemez Mountains.

Parking is readily available in Chimayo. Food and lodging are also reasonably available. Cordova is rather isolated and services of any type may be difficult to obtain. The Cordova church is usually closed except for church functions. You should make arrangements ahead of time if you wish to visit that church.

Santuario de Chimayo is open and available to the public during the daytime however, you should not disturb mass or other church functions while they are in progress.
