The Holy Dirt

September 2012

Dear El Santuario de Chimayo

I’m writing this letter to tell you how grateful I am. About a month ago I was having very painful leg pains. So bad I couldn’t even get out of bed in the morning. I’d have to roll out of bed and crawl to the stairs just to pull myself up. Until one day my Aunt Kim came over to visit and was talking about this holy dirt that came from New Mexico. She had problems with her knees that lately she’s been feeling a lot better. She was very happy and thankful she was able to stand up and walk around longer than usual.

Although I was skeptical at first, I told my aunt about my leg problems and she suggested I’d give it a try. I will admit I was kind of scared at first, but my aunt and mother convinced me to not worry and to not be afraid.

So I built up the courage and decided to try it. So I went to my room in the basement and read the instructions and followed them step by step. But unfortunately it was hard for me to concentrate with all the noise coming from upstairs, so I told my aunt and mother I’d give it another try.

Later on when everyone was asleep, I tried my best to stay focused; over again I followed the steps and rubbed the dirt on the area of my legs where the pain was after finishing the prayer I headed to bed.

The next morning I woke up and felt little to no pain at all in my legs. I was very happy. I finally felt I could do everyday activities without worrying about messing up my leg. So I write you this letter to share my experience and to give hope to those who are skeptical and to believe that God is with us.

I thank you for your time and am thankful for the holy dirt my aunt received from your church.

Thank you and God Bless.
