Weddings at El Santuario de Chimayo

El Santuario de Chimayó encourages couples to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony in their home parish, where their faith community can witness and share in the occasion. That said, the Santuario warmly welcomes couples who wish to marry here, provided the following requirements are met:

1. ​ Written permission from your parish priest to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony in the El Santuario de Chimayó.

2. ​The preparation for the Sacrament of Matrimony takes place in your parish.

3. ​Send all documentation related to the preparation of the Sacrament of Matrimony to Santuario de Chimayó, P.O. Box 235, Chimayó NM 87522. El Santuario's Office will contact you upon receipt of the documentation.

4. With the approval of the documentation, the wedding date becomes official.

RENEWAL OF WEDDING VOWS​

You are welcome to receive a blessing in commemorating your wedding anniversary during the 11:00 am Mass from Monday to Saturday, with previous arrangements with the Santuario de Chimayó Office.

Requirements:

1. Email Santuario Office with a copy of your Marriage Certificate signed by a Catholic Priest, Deacon, or parish secretary.

2. Inform us about the date and time of your request to renew your wedding vows at Santuario de Chimayó.

3. Wait to receive writing approval/response from Santuario Office.
