Abrazo del Santuario Foundation
Abrazo del Santuario Foundation’s mission is to provide financial support to preserve and maintain El Santuario de Chimayó’s historical building, property, artwork and artifacts. The Foundation was incorporated and recognized as a nonprofit, Tax-exempt charitable and educational organizatiom within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Fr. Sebastian Lee serves ad the President of the Abrazo del Santuario Foundation.

Every year thousands of people make the pilgrimage to El Santuario de Chimayó to demonstrate their faith, request healing or express gratitude. El Santuario was recently marked as one of the 100 most sacred places across the world.

Many visit two chapels that are part of the campus at El Santuario de Chimayó: Our Lord of Esquipulas Chapel and the Holy Child of Atocha Chapel. A National Historic Landmark since 1970, El Santuario became known for the founding of the Crucifix of the Christ of Esquipulas Chapel in 1890 and the healings granted through its devotion.

El Santuario de Chimayó exists only through the generosity of the people of Chimayó and the visitors who find, within this humble and ancient building, something to honor and cherish. Donations made to El Santuario de Chinayó are used to preserve both the building and the artwork it contains as well as to improve the grounds.
We are currently building an exciting new structure that will help us serve our pilgrims and parishoners: The Concha. More information to come!

PURCHASE MERCHANDISE: We offer El Santuario de Chimayó Tee-shirts for $20 and “A Guide to New Mexico's Popular Saints” for $10. All proceeds support our community by going directly to the Abrazos de Santuario Foundation. These items can be purchased at our tables outside The Christ of Esquipulas Chapel after mass during winter months and near the gazebo in spring, summer and fall.
