A Note for Tour Operators and Travel Agencies:

Please inform your clients that El Santuario de Chimayó is an active Catholic shrine — not a typical tourist destination. It is, first and foremost, a place of prayer. At any time of day, visitors may find people worshipping in the chapels, and all guests are asked to be respectful of that.

Inside the chapels, photography and conversation are not permitted. Both are welcome outside on the grounds.

​

We ask that all visitors enter with the quiet reverence appropriate to a sacred space.

Tour Operators and Travel Agencies that plan to visit inside the places of worship first call Santuario Office and ask permission: CONTACT US.

GUIDED TOURS

Free guided tours are available on Fridays at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm, weather permitting and if a tour guide is available.
